There are lovely views from the cottage of the sea over the fields to Cardigan Bay and the Rhinog Mountains, and both are just a short stroll away. The cottage is located in the Snowdonia National Park between the seaside town of Barmouth on the Mawddach estuary and the historic castle town of Harlech.
Hwylfa Groes is ideally situated within easy reach of the wealth of attractions Snowdonia has to offer, with great days out for all the family from Aberystwyth in the South to Snowdon and Anglesey in the North. The local area itself boasts many activities including horse riding, golf, walking, bird watching, fishing and cycling and many seasonal events, fairs and galas taking place in and around Barmouth throughout the year.
All within a 2 minute walk of the cottage, the village of Talybont has a well stocked general stores and off-licence, Tony’s Italian Restaurant is highly recommended offering a superb menu and a freshly prepared pizza takeaway service and the Ysgethin Inn serves excellent food and fine beers in peaceful surroundings by the woods and the river. There are tranquil walks through the bluebell woods following the River Ysgethin to the Rhinog Mountains with views of the Mawdacch and the breathtaking expanse of golden sandy beach backed by the sand dunes is just a short walk away.
Hwylfa Groes is a modernised yet traditional detached stone built cottage dating back to 1754, plenty of character with exposed stone walls, slate floors throughout, fully double glazed, a large inglenook fireplace with woodburning stove and original bread oven, the pretty gardens are fully landscaped with old drystone walls and private off street parking in drive. The cottage is Walker and Cycle friendly awarded by Visit Wales and has secure cycle storage upon request. The cottage sleeps up to 3 and is available all year.
